History
Shoji graduated at the top of his class from the Department of Visual Design at Kanazawa College of Art, where he cultivated an artistic sensibility that continues to shape his approach to visual storytelling.
He began his career in 2001 at a major Japanese advertising agency, advancing through multiple creative roles—including commercial planner, designer, art director, copywriter, and creative director—building a strong foundation in integrated communication and brand strategy.
Over the years, he has conceived and directed campaigns across a wide spectrum of industries, from consumer electronics and video games to confectionery, food, and beverages. His creative work is defined by a media- and method-neutral philosophy that allows each idea to find its most resonant form of expression.
In 2017, he joined a global healthcare communications network, collaborating with international teams in the U.S. and the U.K. to develop communication strategies for leading pharmaceutical brands.
This experience deepened his ability to integrate creative excellence with scientific and regulatory precision, delivering campaigns that connect with both professional and consumer audiences.
Since 2020, Shoji has served as Executive Creative Director at a leading digital and brand communications agency, driving innovation and creative transformation across integrated platforms.
In addition to leading creative development for key clients, he has focused on strengthening the department’s creative capabilities and elevating its global visibility, aligning business growth with human-centered, meaningful creativity.
Shoji’s achievements have been recognized with numerous accolades from both international and domestic award festivals, including Cannes Lions, The CLIO Awards, The One Show, D&AD, London International Awards, Spikes Asia, AdFest, Mad Stars, and Cresta Awards.
In Japan, he has received major honors such as the Nikkei Advertising Awards, Japan Industrial Advertising Awards, Japan Magazine Advertising Awards, Newspaper Advertising Awards, JAA Advertising Awards, Dentsu Advertising Awards, and ACC Awards.
Beyond his creative accomplishments, Shoji contributes to the global advertising community as a juror, having served on several international festival panels, including as a Shortlist Juror for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
His perspective—shaped by years of multidisciplinary experience and a foundation in fine art—continues to bridge artistic finesse and strategic intelligence, inspiring work that resonates emotionally and delivers measurable impact.
金沢美術工芸大学 視覚デザイン科を卒業後、内資系の総合広告代理店と外資系の業種特化型広告代理店でのキャリアを経て、2020年よりグローバルデジタルエージェンシーに在籍。
多様な業種のクライアントとあらゆるメディアのコミュニケーション開発を手掛け、ターゲットの心を的確に捉えるためのメソッドニュートラルなクリエイティブスタイルを確立する。
Cannes Lions、The CLIO Awards、Spikes Asia、The One Show、D&AD、London International Awards、AdFest、Mad Stars、Cresta Awards等の国際広告賞や、日経広告賞、日本産業広告賞、日本雑誌広告賞、新聞広告賞、JAA広告賞、広告電通賞、ACC賞等の国内主要広告賞の受賞実績多数。
また、国際広告賞の審査員⻑や審査員を複数回にわたって務める。
